About Harun

I am a Political Science graduate from Oberlin College Class of 2020. While a student at Oberlin, I taught an introductory Turkish language class through the Experimental College through in-person and remote settings. My past students went on to study-abroad programs in Turkey or just as tourists to apply their Turkish skills.

About the lesson

I teach Turkish to all skill levels, but I primarily teach beginner Turkish. A big aspect of my approach is teaching conversational Turkish. From a linguistics perspective, I aim to connect Turkish grammar to other familiar language structures.

Harun was my Turkish language teacher at Oberlin College, and I had a really fulfilling experience. Harun is a very passionate and gifted teacher and always made sure that I never missed out on anything. I highly recommend Harun if you want to learn Turkish. He's really focused, dedicated, and genuinely cares about his students. After taking lessons with Harun, I was able to visit Turkey for a whole summer applying my new speaking skills!
