About Val
I am in the second year of my Philosophy and English BA at the New College of the Humanities, on track for a 1st Class Honours. I have over 2 years experience teaching English as a foreign language to adults and teenagers in London and Oxford, and over a year experience of private A Level tutoring.

I am very organised and methodical, so I like to plan lessons well in advance. I ask my students what they want from tutoring, and plan accordingly. I encourage my students to do the same, and help them to develop revision plans to see the big picture, and to figure out their strengths and weaknesses. I focus teaching of content around exam technique and essay writing, but I also like to reiterate to students that these subjects have real life applications beyond exams, to encourage interest and boost morale.
