About Karena
Being a mother for over 30 years and a grandmother for four, I know the struggles we face as parents and grandparents. We always strive to ensure the best for our children. There are so many choices to make especially about their education. As adults, we have to decide how to better ourselves to reach the goals for our future. I emphasize with every adult trying to make decisions to help themselves or loved ones. This is why the students I tutor come away from our sessions with an attitude of success. I teach each student with the quality instruction I would give my own children. My life's mission is to create a love for learning in everyone I encounter. I am a teacher and tutor with 25 years experience. I enjoy helping students to love learning as much as I do. I incorporate different methods to meet the needs of each student. I often step out of the box to reach a student where they are in learning a concept.
In my tutoring methods, students will learn why they need to learn each concept. Understanding the reasons of why this specific thing is important improves motivation and curiosity in students. Students will come away from sessions knowing what they learned and why they needed to learn it. I incorporate different practices and ideas with students until we find the best for each one of them.
