About Steve
I graduated in Management and Chemical Sciences in 1982. My degree included most of the key topics seen in A Level Business as well as modules in micro and macro economics. More recently, I completed an MA in e-Commerce, which combined Marketing and Economics and required a lengthy dissertation, for which I gained a Distinction. Before becoming a teacher, I worked for around 20 years in Banking, Marketing and Product Management. I have practical experience of many of the topics taught in Business, and particularly in the areas of Banking and Financial Institutions, which are seen in A Level Economics. I also gained ACIB and MICM qualifications.
I became a teacher of A Level Economics & Business Studies in 2003 at a top independent school in Surrey. I gained my QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and began building my experience of teaching all modules of both subjects. I then became Head of Economics & Business at another school, where I taught for 14 years. Being in charge of a team of teachers, I was responsible for planning schemes of work and handling examination entries and results. I have extensive experience of teaching both Edexcel and AQA A Levels in Economics and Business at five different independent schools in Surrey.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been an examiner - first of all in A Level and GCSE Business Studies, and for the last 15 years, in A Level Economics. I supervise and train other examiners and handle reviews of student papers after results. Throughout my career, I have worked with students having a range of skills and abilities and I enjoy helping all of them to enjoy Economics or Business and to meet their potential.

Over 22 years as a teacher and examiner of A Level Economics and Business (Business Studies), I have learnt that every student is different. Economics and Business students require a wide range of skills to become successful and I enjoy helping them to develop these skills.
