About Marlis
To help parents feel completely comfortable before committing, I offer a free 15-minute video call. This gives us a chance to meet, discuss your child’s needs, and ensure that my tutoring style is the right fit. I want every family to feel safe, informed, and confident from the very beginning. As a Master’s graduate and active supply teacher, I bring a calm, encouraging, and professional approach to every lesson. Working closely with KS2 pupils has shown me that confidence often matters just as much as ability. Many children simply need someone patient who explains things clearly and celebrates their progress — and that is the atmosphere I aim to create. Parents can feel reassured knowing that I regularly support KS2 children in real classroom settings, understand the challenges they face, and know how to adapt explanations to suit different learning styles. I prepare carefully before each session so that lessons are structured, clear, and focused on helping your child feel more capable. My goal is not just to teach Maths, but to help children develop a genuine belief in themselves. When a child begins to understand something they once found difficult, their confidence grows — and that is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I am committed, reliable, and genuinely invested in my students’ progress. Your child will always be taught in a positive, supportive environment where they are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, and enjoy learning again.

My tutoring approach is based on patience, clarity, and building confidence. I understand that KS2 Maths can feel challenging for many children, so I focus on creating a calm and supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I teach by breaking topics down into simple, easy-to-understand steps and using plenty of guided practice. If a child is unsure, I explain the method again in a different way until it makes sense. My priority is always to help the child feel encouraged, capable, and gradually more confident with Maths. A typical lesson is 60 minutes, and includes: • A short warm-up to check understanding • Clear explanation of one topic at a time • Step-by-step practice together • Independent questions to build confidence • A short recap at the end For homework support, I guide children through their tasks by showing them how to approach each question and helping them build good study habits. I am a 24-year-old Master’s Graduate and supply teacher, with regular experience supporting KS2 classes across different schools. Although I do not specialise in SATs preparation, I am committed to helping children understand their schoolwork, strengthen their Maths foundations, and feel more secure in their abilities. My lessons are suitable for: • KS2 pupils (Years 3–6) • Children who need support understanding classwork • Pupils who need help with weekly homework • Children who have lost confidence in Maths • Learners who benefit from patient, structured revision I am dedicated, encouraging, and willing to revise and prepare before each lesson to make sure your child gets the support they need.
