About Me: Ken Cole
I'm Kenneth Weaver, a photographer with a deep-rooted passion for capturing the human condition through the lens. Inspired by the works of legends like Leonard Freed, Vivian Maier, and Saul Leiter, I find myself drawn to the art of street photography. Their ability to document candid, meaningful moments fuels my work and influences my approach to both street and event photography.
For me, there’s something powerful about blending into the background and letting moments unfold naturally. That’s what I love most about street photography—it's about observing life as it is and documenting the authenticity of everyday scenes. My obsession with this style has also translated seamlessly into event photography. There’s a unique thrill in capturing the essence of an event, blending storytelling with spontaneity to create images that resonate on a deeper level.
I’m particularly captivated by the flexibility of roaming event photography, which allows for real-time connection. By instantly sharing photos through social media or email, I aim to amplify the experience for attendees, making each event even more memorable and immersive. It’s more than just photography; it’s about connecting people to those moments and creating images that leave a lasting imprint on the view and more importantly myself. After all, if what you create doesn't move you, how can you expect it to move anyone else?
In all my work—whether film stills, editorial portraits, or street scenes—I strive to create images that tell a story and connect on an emotional level. There’s nothing I enjoy more than watching others discover this same passion, which is why I love teaching photography. Helping students find their voice and confidence through the lens is as rewarding as capturing the perfect image.

My photography lessons cater to anyone who wants to explore the world with a camera, especially in street and travel photography. Inspired by my journey and the works of legends like Freed, Maier, and Leiter, I bring a focus on authenticity and storytelling to each session. I’m here to help you not only learn the technical skills but also discover your perspective and style—ultimately helping you find your unique voice.
What to Expect:
Foundational Skills & Technical Mastery: I’ll guide you through every aspect of photography, from mastering camera settings and perfecting composition to diving into editing software like Lightroom and Photoshop. Whether you're learning basic adjustments or advanced techniques, you'll gain the skills to bring your images to life.
Storytelling & Observation: Following in the footsteps of my street photography heroes, I emphasize the importance of seeing beyond the frame to capture candid, compelling moments that tell a deeper story.
Immersive Fieldwork and Photo Walks: Each lesson includes interactive photo walks and hands-on experiences where we’ll explore real-world environments. You’ll have the opportunity to apply techniques, discover new perspectives, and enjoy a relaxed, creative atmosphere that makes learning both engaging and enjoyable.
Event Photography Techniques: For those interested in event photography, I’ll share my approach to roaming event coverage—capturing moments as they naturally unfold and connecting people to those moments in real-time. It’s a dynamic style that brings events to life through imagery.
My goal is to help each student develop both technical skills and an eye for storytelling. Whether you’re passionate about street photography, want to document your travels, or are looking to capture events in an impactful way, I’m here to support your journey.
