About Poulami
Why Choose My Tutoring?
Finding the right tutor is about finding someone who really understands how students learn and makes studying feel clear, simple, and manageable.
I hold two Master's degrees in STEM and Computer Science, including a Master of Science from the University of Birmingham. Because of my background, I know how to break down tricky ideas in Maths, Science, Computer Science, and English into easy steps that make sense. I also hold an IELTS qualification and have served as a Senior Student Representative in the UK, so clear communication and listening to student needs are central to how I teach.
I also know what it feels like to struggle. As a child, I was actually afraid of maths myself, so I truly understand how overwhelming a tough topic can be. That is why my lessons are very calm, friendly, and patient. We go at your pace, break problems down step-by-step, and celebrate every bit of progress until you feel completely confident.
To make learning interactive and fun, I use live digital whiteboards where we can work through questions together on screen in real time. For your safety and peace of mind, I hold an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check.
I offer a free 30-minute trial lesson so we can meet online, chat about your goals, and try out a short lesson together with zero pressure!

About My Tutoring Approach and Lessons
Techniques and Teaching Methodology
Calm and Patient Environment: Having overcome a fear of mathematics in my own childhood, I teach with empathy, clarity, and patience. My goal is to transform intimidating topics into approachable, stress-free concepts.
Interactive Digital Whiteboards: In our 1-to-1 online sessions, we solve problems, annotate diagrams, and work through past papers together live on screen. Learning is active and visual, encouraging true understanding rather than passive listening.
Step-by-Step Mastery: Complex algebraic equations, scientific principles, and programming logic are broken down into clear, manageable steps to ensure students build solid foundational knowledge before tackling advanced material.
Exam Technique and Fluency: We focus on past paper strategies, mark schemes, and time management skills to turn conceptual confidence into strong academic performance.
Lesson Duration and Frequency
Standard Duration: 1 hour per session, providing the ideal balance of theoretical explanation and guided practice.
Extended Options: 90-minute sessions are available for targeted exam preparation or in-depth topic coverage.
Frequency: Flexible scheduling, typically arranged once or twice weekly based on individual student goals.
Qualifications and Background
Academic Background: Double Master's degree background in STEM and computational fields, including a Master of Science from the University of Birmingham and a Master of Technology in Computer Science.
Communication Credentials: IELTS qualified, with leadership experience as Senior Student Representative, Programme Representative, and Master of Ceremony at UK university events.
Safety and Compliance: Fully cleared Enhanced DBS check.
Experience: Extensive 1-to-1 private tutoring experience across mathematics, general science, computer science, and English language support.
