About Shamsa

I'm a Senior O Level English Educator and Academic Coordinator based in Karachi, with over 17 years of experience in teaching, curriculum design, and school leadership. I currently head the English Department at Al-Hadi Academy, where I teach Cambridge O Level English Language (1123) and oversee curriculum consistency across Grades VI–XI.

I hold an M.A. and B.A. (Hons) in Sociology from the University of Karachi, and I've built my career around a genuine passion for fostering critical thinking, strong communication, and academic excellence in students. Beyond the classroom, I've served as Vice Principal at Rosary Grammar School, supervising academic planning and examination management, and I regularly mentor fellow teachers to strengthen instructional quality across departments.

I stay current through ongoing Cambridge (CAIE) professional development, having completed multiple certifications and workshops through 2024, ensuring my teaching always reflects the latest syllabus standards and assessment strategies. Married, and a proud, longtime Karachi-based educator, I bring both classroom discipline and warmth to every student I work with.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to Cambridge O Level English Language (1123), A Level English (9093), IGCSE (0510 & 0511), and AKU-EB/SSC English, covering Grades IX through XII. Each session focuses on building strong reading comprehension, writing technique, and exam strategy using proven methods like the PEEL technique, ICE strategy, and SQ3R — the same frameworks I've used to help students achieve consistently strong O Level results over the past several years.

I structure lessons around each student's specific weaknesses, whether that's directed writing, summary writing, or comprehension mastery, and adjust pacing based on how they're progressing rather than following a rigid one-size-fits-all plan. With 8 years of dedicated online coaching alongside my classroom experience, I focus on practical exam technique as much as core language skills, so students walk in prepared for exactly what examiners are looking for.

Lessons are available for individual students at all levels from IX to XII, with flexible scheduling to fit around school commitments.
