About David
A bit about me: growing up, I had dyslexia and found reading and writing, especially English, very challenging. School didn’t always come easily, even in subjects I enjoyed like math and science and I often had to work harder than others to keep up. What made a big difference was working with tutors who helped me develop learning strategies that actually worked for me.
With support and study approaches that matched my learning style, I was able to succeed and eventually build a career as a scientist. That experience shaped how I tutor today. I’m patient, supportive, and focused on helping students find the strategies that work best for how they learn.

Hi, I’m David. I’m a scientist with over 15 years of experience working in biotechnology, where I use math, chemistry, and biology every day to solve real-world problems. I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel intimidating.
My approach focuses on understanding concepts rather than memorization. I start by identifying where a student is getting stuck, then break problems down into clear, manageable steps. During lessons we work through examples together, practice problem-solving, and connect the material to real-world applications so it makes more sense and sticks.
A typical session includes reviewing current homework or topics, working through practice problems together, and building strategies for approaching new questions independently. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
I work with middle school, high school, and early college students in math, biology, chemistry, and general science courses. My goal is not just to help students finish assignments, but to help them truly understand the material and feel more confident in class.
