About Will
I have been working in the music industry since the 1990s as a recording and mix engineer, producer and remixer with numerous club chart number ones and a UK top 40. I have been signed to no less than 8 different record labels including BMG, Strictly Rhythm, Island and Rough Trade. Since the mid 00s I have also been working as a lecturer and studio designer/builder at some of the UK’s leading universities.
Although industry experience is important, the ability to pass knowledge on to you in an easy to understand way is vital. I have worked as a lecturer/tutor at the Royal Academy of Music, Oxford University and I am currently course leader on various core production and sound recording modules at a leading central London university.
I am very familiar with the A Level MusicTech syllabus and most undergrad/postgrad syllabuses.

My Approach
Online - For online tuition, I use a combination of Zoom and Audiomovers (high res IP audio). It’s a really intuitive way to work and is perfect for all things DAW related.
In person - Face to face studio tuition in a central London studio. Spaces are limited for this so book ahead! Usually a package of 2 or more hours for individuals or small groups (cheaper). Custom rates available.

* DAW tuition and techniques including Logic, Protools, Bitwig, Ableton
* Mixing techniques and critical listening skills from beginner to advanced.
* Mastering - how to get your track release-ready and sounding great anywhere, whether it’s through a pair of AirPods or a club system.
* The ‘essentials’ including balancing, panning, compression, EQ, effects and dynamics processing.
* Help with undergrad / A Level work, dissertations and any other coursework.
