About Olivia

Hi! I’m a qualified Maths tutor with a PGCE in Mathematics and QTS from Hope University. My academic background includes GCSE and A-Level Maths, as well as a degree in Business and Economics, where 50% of my coursework focused on Mathematics.

I’m passionate about showing students that Maths is more than just numbers—it's a powerful tool for building a business, planning a career, or pursuing higher education. Whether you’re preparing for GCSEs, A-levels, or want to boost your everyday numeracy, I tailor lessons to your goals and learning style.

I work with students of all ages, including KS3, GCSE, A-Level, and adult learners. My teaching style is calm, supportive, and focused on building confidence and problem-solving skills.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs, but typically includes:
* Warm-up: Quick review of previous concepts or a short diagnostic question to identify gaps.
* Main Topic Focus: Step-by-step explanation of new content, with guided examples. I use real-life scenarios where possible to make Maths relevant and practical.
* Practice Time: We work through problems together, followed by independent attempts with support.
* Wrap-Up & Feedback: Recap key ideas, clarify any confusion, and assign optional practice questions for consolidation.

Olivia has been fantastic with my son for his GCSE. She has a very warm personality that encourages learning and a way of breaking things down so he could understand where he was loosing marks or how to do the calculation correctly showing working out for those all important extra marks. She took the time to find out which topics my son was struggling on and supported him with those particular topics. I would highly recommend her as a maths tutor
