About Christopher
I live in the mountains of western NC with my beautiful wife Jaime, 1 year old daughter Elodie, and 2 dogs Coal-B & Ladybird. I enjoy playing guitar/ piano and enjoying the outdoors.
With 20 years of private tutoring experience and 12 years experience as a professor of mathematics and statistics, teaching students from the elementary through graduate school levels, I've contributed to the academic success of many thousands of students.
I'm flexible, patient, and HIGHLY enthusiastic about mathematics and science. In fact, many have told me I'm a nerd's nerd, a dub I accept unabashedly accept! In any event, I look forward to connecting helping take your math skills to the next level!

I've become very skilled at adapting to each of my students unique learning styles by applying a constructivist approach, meaning that my goal is to foster deeper subject matter understanding in my students by providing the tools needed for the "Ah-HAH" moments I cherish so much. I forbid use of the word "memorize" in any learning environment! My secret weapon: emphasizing the IMPORTANT yet too often ignored relationship between understanding mathematical principles and the English language.
