About Ruby
I am a professional piano tutor with 6 years of experience and a successful record of teaching around 300 students, including high school students, college learners, and adults seeking to improve technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence.
My teaching philosophy balances structured instruction with creativity and encouragement, focusing on developing a solid technical foundation through scales, chord exercises, finger training, rhythm practice, and sight-reading, while also emphasising musicality, phrasing, and expressive interpretation.
Each lesson is carefully planned with technical exercises, theory application, repertoire practice, and performance preparation, and I adapt my teaching style to individual goals, whether students are preparing for graded exams, recitals, or learning for personal enjoyment.
Many students have achieved excellent results and performed confidently in public, and I am committed to guiding each student with patience and motivation to unlock their full potential and foster a lifelong love of piano.

My piano teaching methodology is built on adapting to each student’s learning style while maintaining flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. I start by understanding how the student learns best and what goals they want to achieve.
I focus on building a strong technical base, including correct posture, finger placement, rhythm accuracy, scales, and expressive playing. I break lessons into simple, structured steps so students can clearly understand each concept. Flexibility allows me to adjust the pace depending on progress and comfort level.
Collaboration is encouraged through shared goal setting and open communication about musical interests. I maintain a positive learning environment where students feel supported and confident.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and keyboard harmony to develop complete musicianship and deeper musical understanding.
