About Sam
As a physics teacher with over a decade in education, I bring a unique analytical perspective to chess instruction. My background in physics and specialization in problem-solving strategies has shaped my teaching methodology, allowing me to break down complex concepts into manageable, logical steps. With a 2100 Rapid rating on chess.com (1850 ECF), I combine strong theoretical knowledge with practical playing experience.
Being a parent of three children has given me invaluable experience in adapting my teaching style to different age groups and learning preferences. While I excel at working with young learners, I'm equally comfortable coaching adults, helping players of all ages develop their chess understanding and competitive skills.
My passion for both teaching and chess drives me to create engaging, structured lessons that focus on long-term improvement and deep understanding of the game. I believe that chess, like physics, is best learned through a combination of fundamental principles and practical problem-solving.
