About Puran

I am Puran Tripathy, originally from India, where I completed my Master's at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. I later moved to the United States to earn my PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. With over 20 years of experience, I have developed a deep, lifelong passion for Mathematics, Physics, and the applied engineering side of science. My goal on Superprof is not financial; I am driven by a genuine desire to share the beauty of logic with the next generation. I believe true mastery comes from understanding the 'why' behind the numbers, rather than just memorizing formulas. My approach is unique. I move beyond standard textbook solutions to teach mathematical intuition. I train my students to solve complex problems in Arithmetic, Geometry, and Calculus mentally, reducing the dependency on pen and paper. By focusing on these analytical skills, I help students build a powerful mental framework that strengthens their academic performance and prepares them for a successful professional career.
