About Ben

I am confident working with a range of learners, from complete beginners through to more advanced students, and I tailor my lessons to suit individual goals—whether that is improving speaking confidence, developing fluency, or supporting exam preparation.

My aim is to create a supportive and structured environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and steadily progressing towards fluency in Russian.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is structured, communicative, and focused on helping students build real confidence in Russian from the very beginning. I use TPRS alongside spaced repetition techniques to support long-term language acquisition and retention. Rather than relying heavily on rote memorisation, my lessons emphasise meaningful input, storytelling, and guided conversation. New vocabulary and grammar are introduced in context, then recycled regularly in different ways to ensure it becomes natural and easy to recall over time.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the learner’s age, goals, and level of experience.

My lessons are suitable for:

- Complete beginners in Russian
- GCSE and A-Level students (where applicable)
- Adult learners studying Russian for travel, interest, or personal development
- Learners who want to improve speaking, listening, reading, and vocabulary retention
