About Brenda

I am a dedicated and patient Mathematics tutor committed to helping students build strong academic foundations and lasting confidence. I understand that many learners struggle with Maths not because they lack ability, but because they need clear guidance, structured support, and encouragement. My goal is to provide exactly that.

I approach every lesson with professionalism, preparation, and respect for each student’s unique learning pace. I carefully plan my sessions to ensure that concepts are explained clearly, practice is meaningful, and progress is measurable. I also maintain open communication with parents and students to track improvement and set realistic academic goals.

With experience working closely with children and young learners, I have developed strong skills in simplifying complex ideas and creating a supportive learning environment. My students are encouraged to ask questions freely, think critically, and build independence in problem-solving.

I am reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality lessons that lead to real academic improvement. My aim is not only to help students pass exams but to help them truly understand and appreciate Mathematics.

About the lesson

My Teaching Techniques and Methodology

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, supportive, and practical. I believe every learner understands differently, so I first identify the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.

I use:

Step-by-step explanations to simplify complex topics

Real-life examples to make Maths practical and relatable

Guided practice followed by independent practice

Regular quizzes and revision to track progress

Encouragement to build confidence and reduce Maths anxiety

I create a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because mistakes are part of learning.

Typical Length of a Lesson

A standard lesson lasts 60 minutes.

10 minutes – Quick review of previous work

35–40 minutes – Teaching new concept with examples

10–15 minutes – Practice questions and feedback

For exam candidates, I also offer extended 90-minute revision sessions.

My Qualifications and Experience

I have experience working with children and young learners, and I have strong skills in explaining concepts clearly and patiently.

I have worked in different roles that required communication, mentoring, and guiding learners. I also have experience creating educational content, which helps me break down information in a simple and engaging way.

My strength as a tutor is patience, clarity, and the ability to connect with students.
