About Asma

Hello! My name is Asma, and I am a Psychology student at the University of Sheffield with a passion for education and helping students reach their full potential.

I have experience tutoring Maths and English through Explore Learning, where I support both primary and secondary students with personalised online lessons. I have also volunteered as a Reading Mentor with Coram Beanstalk, working one-to-one with primary school children to improve their reading skills, confidence and enjoyment of learning.

Academically, I achieved strong GCSE and A-Level results, including Grade 9 in English Language, Grade 8 in English Literature, Grade 7 in Mathematics and Chemistry, A grades in A-Level English Literature and Government & Politics, a B in Psychology, and an A in my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). As a current university student, I understand the challenges students face and the study techniques needed to succeed in today's curriculum.

I pride myself on being patient, approachable and encouraging. Every student learns differently, so I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence and achieving their academic goals. About the lesson

My online Science lessons are tailored to each student's learning style, whether they are studying Primary Science, GCSE Combined Science or Triple Science. Each lesson begins by identifying areas that need improvement before working through concepts using clear explanations, worked examples and interactive discussion. We then apply this knowledge with exam-style questions and regular retrieval practice to build confidence and improve long-term understanding. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and develop the skills needed to succeed independently.
