About Zara
Hi! I'm an experienced tutor with around a year of tutoring students from Year 2 to Year 11 in Maths, English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Before becoming a tutor, I also ran a Maths Puzzle Club as part of my Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award, helping younger students develop their mathematical thinking in a fun and engaging way. I achieved eleven GCSEs, all at grades 9-8, and have recently completed my A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Economics. I am currently awaiting my A Level results and hope to study Mathematics and Computer Science at university. I currently offer online tutoring in Maths and Chemistry. I focus on helping students make clear, measurable progress by explaining concepts in a straightforward way and ensuring they can apply what they learn independently. Every lesson is tailored to the student's needs, whether they are building confidence, preparing for exams, improving problem-solving skills or catching up on topics they find challenging. Although I'm new to Superprof, I have experience teaching students both through tutoring and by leading a Maths Puzzle Club, and I look forward to bringing that same supportive and patient approach to my online lessons. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!

From my experience, one of the biggest differences between students who consistently achieve the highest grades and those who struggle is not simply the ability to memorise methods or facts, but the ability to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar situations. This comes from developing a deep understanding of the subject and building intuition, rather than relying solely on pattern recognition or memorised procedures.
Every lesson is student-centred, meaning I adapt my teaching to each student's strengths, areas for improvement and learning goals. I encourage students to think critically, explain their reasoning and develop the confidence to tackle problems independently, rather than simply following a set of steps.
For younger students, my focus is on building strong foundations and confidence so that future topics feel much more intuitive. For GCSE students, I combine this conceptual understanding with exam technique by working through exam-style questions, identifying common mistakes and developing strategies for approaching unfamiliar problems under exam conditions.
My goal is for students to leave each lesson not only with a better understanding of the material, but also with the confidence and problem-solving skills to succeed independently.

Excellent tutor, highly recommended
Zara is a brilliant tutor who turns confusion into clarity with remarkable skill. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to take the most challenging concepts and break them down into clear, manageable steps that are easy to follow. She has a gift for identifying exactly where a student is struggling and patiently guiding them to understanding, without ever making them feel overwhelmed. Zara's passion for teaching is evident in every session, and her encouraging approach builds both confidence and competence. She is reliable, prepared, and genuinely invested in helping others grow. I cannot recommend her highly enough, as she is simply outstanding.
Zara is a friend of mine from Sixth Form. She is patient and can explain difficult concepts in a way that really makes sense. She has always been incredibly dedicated to her work - I truly believe in her ability to pass on not only her expansive knowledge but also her genuine dedication and love for Maths to any student she teaches.
