About Anna

Hi, I’m Anna, a fully qualified English teacher with over 15 years of experience in the UK and Switzerland. I hold a PGCE in English from Durham University and have worked across secondary schools, international schools and as a one-to-one tutor.

About the lesson

What I Offer: I provide online English Language and Literature tuition for students aged 11–18 across KS3–KS4, GCSE, IGCSE and IB Diploma (including the Extended Essay). I also support younger learners aged 9+ with literacy development, offer tailored support for students with additional learning needs and work with international students on EAL. With first-hand insight into assessment standards, I help all learners develop confidence, build strong analytical and effective writing skills.

Tutoring Approach: My lessons are student-focused and highly practical. Whether it’s improving writing skills, preparing for exams, refining essay technique, building literacy confidence or developing English as an additional language, I adapt each session to suit the learner’s needs. I aim to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel confident, challenged and able to make real progress.

Practical Details: Lessons take place online via Google Meet and Google Docs, making them fully interactive and collaborative. I am available on some weekday evenings, on Mondays during the day and evening, and on most weekends, with flexible time slots. My rate is £55–£70 per hour, depending on level and specific requirements.
