About Elizabeth
I’m a qualified Secondary English teacher with extensive experience teaching online, including several years working with GCSE and IGCSE students across Pearson Edexcel, AQA and Cambridge specifications. I currently serve as Head of English at an established online school, where I design curricula, create high-quality lesson resources, and support consistent teaching standards across the department. This role has given me a strong understanding of what students need to succeed, both academically and personally, in a digital learning environment.
My lessons are carefully planned, well structured and fully tailored to each student’s needs. I combine clear explanations with exam-focused strategies, regular practice and detailed feedback, ensuring students feel supported while being challenged to reach their full potential. I pride myself on being professional, reliable and approachable, creating a calm and focused learning space where students feel confident to ask questions, take risks and make progress.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive and genuinely student-focused. I tailor each lesson to the learner in front of me, balancing clear explanations with active discussion so students don’t just memorise content but actually understand it. I use a mix of guided questioning, modelled responses, exam-style practice and immediate feedback, helping students build confidence and independence over time. Lessons are calm, purposeful and engaging, with high expectations delivered in a way that feels encouraging rather than intimidating.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows time for focused teaching, practice and reflection, though longer sessions can be arranged when needed. I have extensive experience teaching English Language and Literature across Pearson Edexcel, AQA and Cambridge specifications, and I currently work as Head of English at an online school, where I design curricula and support teaching quality. My tutoring is aimed at secondary-aged students, typically from Years 7–11, including those preparing for GCSEs and IGCSEs, as well as students who need extra support or challenge in an online learning environment.
