About Tania
Hi! I'm Tania, a Neuroscience graduate from the University of Edinburgh, and I’m currently starting a Master of Research in Neurotechnology at Imperial College London. Originally from Barcelona, I studied in a British school, so I'm fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan—and happy to teach in any of those languages!
I first started tutoring GCSE students back in sixth form and quickly discovered how much I enjoy helping others learn and grow, especially in science. My goal is to make complex topics easier to grasp by explaining them in a fresh, engaging way—different from the typical classroom approach. I love seeing that “lightbulb moment” when a student truly understands something!
Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, staying active through sports, playing the piano, cooking, and getting lost in a good book.

I started tutoring during my A levels, helping GCSE students with maths, biology, and chemistry, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since. I now tutor students across GCSE, A level, and even university level, in subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, maths, and Spanish. I also support university students studying biomedical sciences, covering areas like neuroscience, immunology, pharmacology, and more.
I create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring topics in depth. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that every student thinks differently. My first step is always to understand how a student processes information, so I can explain concepts in a way that makes the most sense to them. I don’t stick to one method—I adapt my approach to match how they learn best.
We work together to identify the areas they find difficult, then build a solid understanding of the theory before applying it through targeted practice. I also help students develop effective study and revision strategies tailored to their personal learning style.
I truly believe that understanding is what makes you fall in love with a subject. Once something clicks, it becomes more enjoyable—and with that enjoyment comes confidence and progress. Having experienced both great and not-so-great teachers myself, I know how powerful a teaching style can be. My goal is to make learning feel approachable, engaging, and rewarding.
I usually teach one-on-one but can also tutor small groups. Lessons are flexible in length, though 1–2 hour sessions tend to be the most productive.
