About Alex
I'm a mining engineer, geologist and economic consultant. I mostly want to tutor to help students pursue a STEM career.
I have been tutoring since I was in third grade, sometimes pro bono, sometimes for money. I was a teaching assistant in a mathematical modelling course in my undergraduate studies, and now one of my jobs is to train professionals in software and technology use (particular to the mining industry).

I like to use examples and analogies. I find it easier for someone to retain the information this way. I usually do some theory, then i focus on casr studies and particularlities of a topic, before going into a short discussion on the topic for the last part of the session. In case of need, I also have a few questions at the beginning of the session to see if the student needs more time on the subject, or I can move forward with the lessons.
