About Jason

Science graduate, with postgraduate qualifications, I have taught maths at GCSE, A Level and Scottish Higher/National 4/5 level for several years, both as a classroom teacher in secondary schools and as a private tutor. Have taught the new Applications of Maths at Nat 5 and Higher. I hold qualifications in maths from GCSE to university level and worked in engineering before entering education. I have taught accountants from Ernst & Young and BNP Paribas accountancy in English as an EFL course, and, from 2011 to 2023, postgraduate Accountancy and Finance students at Glasgow University. In all these situations I see the relevance and usefulness of maths. I also enjoy getting the creative and problem-solving aspect of maths across to people. I work with students by explaining/exemplifying concepts and reviewing directed practice and establishing exam strategies and techniques so students make maximum use of their time and achieve their potential on exam day. Please note I do not teach students below S4.
