About Yusra

A multi-lingual pure mathematician studying at the University of Greenwich. I have excellent mathematical expertise and ability to communicate it. I conduct my own research and study in topics like Set Theory and Logic. I am a member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and actively give talks at mathematical conferences when opportunities arise. I have experience in teaching various ages from 5-16 years old kids to mature students. I currently work as a teacher at The Enlighten Academy and I have previously tutored mature postgraduate students.

About the lesson

A session with me is guaranteed to make you curious and interested in all the stuff you need to learn whether you like maths or no !
Firstly, I'll get to know you, make sure you feel virtually safe and comfortable around me. All will be done online, by webcam, whatsapp and various other resources until it is safer to organise face to face sessions. Then, I'll work out which type of learner you are. For instance, if you seem to be a visual learner, I will use graphics of, say, functions and visually explain how they behave, draw and doodle examples, deeply dive into the background of trigonometric relations by extracting them directly from the unit circle and so on. On the other hand, if I am teaching a group of students, I will make sure that my approach satisfies each of their learning styles, so that everyone feels engaged. Finally, I am confident that I can show you how fun and inspiring maths really is. I like to dive into the history and background of new concepts I teach to keep you interested. If there is one thing you can trust me for, it's my ability to make maths fun ! You will enjoy learning with me, I will share my passion with you and reveal aspects of the subject you might overlook in classrooms, hence, not only helping you get good grades but also enjoy the process.

Perfect! I reached out to Yousra to help me with understanding complexity of calculus in order to support my postgraduate studies. My expectations were exceeded. She always arrived prepared to all of our lessons with numerous hard and easy examples that were explained in a clear and creative manner. She was often able to fit the maths we did within an applied context and answer any of my questions. It seems that she can crack any mathematical problem of any level of complexity. Patient with my learning and overall a very interesting conversation partner. I look forward to working with her on some more maths in the future. If you are looking for an intelligent, composed and a kind tutor to support you with anything in maths, Yousra is the right person. :)

Lovely and amazing student. An excellent listener and agile thinker. Despite not having done a lot of maths in her curriculum I didn't find it challenging at all to tackle very abstract concepts with her. I greatly enjoyed chats with her in general and I learnt a lot on neuroscience! I would totally recommend her as a future student to anyone really.
