About Mark

Hello! I’m a dedicated tutor with a strong academic background in STEM, having completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Leeds, and a master’s in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary University of London. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to live in diverse countries such as Australia, Canada, South Africa, Mexico, and Argentina. This global experience has given me a broad perspective and allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life, enriching my teaching approach.

Professionally, I have worked as a data scientist for a leading management consultancy and for a US-based mental health startup. These roles helped me hone my problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to convey complex ideas in a simple, clear manner—qualities that I bring into my tutoring.

My passion for tutoring started during my own studies when I helped fellow students overcome challenges in subjects like maths and chemistry. Seeing their progress and newfound confidence ignited a desire in me to help others unlock their potential. Over the years, I’ve worked with students from different backgrounds and academic levels, from secondary school to A-levels, and I find great satisfaction in seeing my students succeed.

I take pride in creating lessons that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. My goal is to help students not only understand difficult concepts but to build confidence and develop a genuine love for learning. Whether you’re preparing for exams, looking to improve your grades, or simply seeking to gain a deeper understanding of maths or chemistry, I am here to support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My teaching style is highly interactive, incorporating hands-on learning activities and real-world examples to ensure that students not only understand concepts but also apply them confidently. In chemistry, I use practical exercises and visual diagrams to break down abstract topics. In maths, I focus on step-by-step problem-solving techniques to encourage critical thinking. I am also adept at keeping students engaged, particularly those who may need extra support, such as students with ADHD, by adapting my approach to their unique learning styles.

My aim is not only to help students achieve academic success but also to foster a genuine love for learning that will benefit them in the long term.
