About Ben
I bring 15 years of running my own businesses, which means I've used math practically every single day — not as theory, but as a working tool. I've tutored many elementary and high school students over the years, and what I've learned is that most kids who struggle with math don't need more drilling — they need someone patient enough to find the actual gap and rebuild from there. I focus on building genuine understanding and confidence, not just getting the next homework assignment done. Students leave my lessons knowing why something works, not just that it does.

I tutor elementary and high school students in math, from foundational arithmetic through algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus. My approach is patient and diagnostic — I figure out where the gap actually is, then build back up from there instead of just drilling the homework. Each lesson typically starts with reviewing what came up in class that week, working through problems together, and finishing with a few independent practice problems so I can see what stuck. Students who feel stuck or behind get the most out of working with me. Available online or in person in the West Bloomfield area.
