About Liza
I am a dedicated Math tutor for elementary to high school students, committed to helping learners build strong foundations and long-term confidence in mathematics. With a clear and structured teaching approach, I make complex topics easier to understand by breaking them down into simple, step-by-step lessons.
My focus is not only on improving grades, but also on developing real understanding and independent problem-solving skills. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning needs, whether they require more practice, visual explanations, or guided examples.
I maintain a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is to help every student gain confidence, improve performance, and develop a positive attitude toward Math from elementary to high school level.
I can also help learners who needs help in reading phonics, beginning reading phrases and sentences.

As a tutor, my approach focuses on making learning clear, structured, and confidence-building rather than just memorization. Here’s how I typically work:
1. I start with understanding the student
I first check what the learner already knows and where they struggle. This helps me teach at the right level instead of going too fast or too slow.
2. I simplify complex topics
Math can feel difficult when it’s full of steps and formulas. I break lessons into small, easy-to-follow parts and explain the “why” behind each step.
3. I use step-by-step problem solving
I guide students through examples slowly at first, then gradually let them try on their own. This builds independence.
4. I connect lessons to real-life situations
Whenever possible, I show how math is used in daily life so it feels more practical and less abstract.
5. I encourage active learning
Instead of just listening, students solve problems, ask questions, and explain their thinking.
6. I give patience and positive feedback
Mistakes are treated as part of learning. I help students correct errors without pressure so they gain confidence.
7. I adjust to each learner’s style
Some learn visually, others through practice or explanation. I adapt my teaching so it fits the student best.
In short, I don’t just teach answers—I teach how to understand and solve problems on their own.
The lessons are for ages 4-15 or preschool to grade 8.
