I try to stress fundamentals of math and other subjects. For example for algebra, look at an equation as a balance scale where each side of the equal sign is in two balancing buckets. If the buckets do not balance then the scale falls over. If you do something to the left side of the equal sign in one bucket you must do the same to the right side bucket. Simple? Yes and often forgotten.
