About Trena
I am an experienced math teacher who currently teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry and has experience working with middle and high school students. I understand that students learn math in different ways, and one of my strengths as a teacher is finding another way to explain a concept when the first explanation doesn’t click. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.

I believe math makes more sense when students understand the “why” behind what they’re doing, not just memorize steps. I provide personalized tutoring for middle school math, Algebra 1, and Geometry, breaking concepts down into manageable steps and explaining them in different ways until they click. I can help with homework, test preparation, skill gaps, and building confidence. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students feel safe asking questions and leave each lesson feeling more capable than when they started.
