About Brianna

I am a dedicated and experienced tutor with a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and probability, backed by two years in business studies at Wilfrid Laurier University and four years studying criminology and sociology at Brock University. As a former university-level soccer player, I bring discipline, focus, and a team-oriented mindset to my teaching approach. My goal is to help students achieve their full potential by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and fostering a positive, encouraging learning environment. My Approach as a Tutor

I focus on tailoring my lessons to each student’s unique learning style and needs. My teaching methodology emphasizes building a strong foundation in key concepts while incorporating real-world examples to make abstract topics relatable and engaging. I strive to create a comfortable, supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes as part of the learning process.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each session starts with a quick review of previous material to reinforce understanding and address any lingering questions. We then dive into the day’s topic, breaking it down into manageable steps using examples, exercises, and discussions. Toward the end of the lesson, we summarize key takeaways and work through a few practice problems to solidify the concepts. I often assign light, optional practice to help students stay sharp between sessions.

What Sets Me Apart

My background in both business and criminology/sociology gives me a unique interdisciplinary perspective, which allows me to connect mathematical concepts to broader contexts. As a university athlete, I’ve developed strong time-management and communication skills, making me adaptable and patient when working with students. I’m passionate about math and statistics and aim to make these subjects accessible and even enjoyable.
