About Sharon

I am a certified ESL specialist, company Trained (Language Line Services)and certified Interpreter French to English, I have taught High School level sciences in French for NGO"S in Africa and also French as a Second Language to Federal Government Employees through private schools in Canada.
I have lived abroad love to travel and enjoy life-long learning myself plus being the parent of two grown daughters who are my pride and joy.

About the lesson

First I try to determine, the student's motivation fro learning a second a language ( French).
For example ; school advancement or course requirements college or university level, work promotion, travel, culture for business owner two attract prospects and increase customer base; so that I can gear the material ,vocabulary and register of language to their specific needs.
When teaching a group or in a classroom setting i would prepare my lessons according to the ESA engage,study,activate as suggested in the Oxford Seminars TESOL/TEFL teacher training. To explain how a lesson should proceed I will elaborate; at the beginning of a new lesson we must ENGAGE the students through games, music,pictures, drams, stories;secondly we must STUDY the new vocabulary or grammar construction together with examples and tasks using the new concept or vocabulary and thirdly we ACTIVATE the new concept vocabulary so the students learn to use their new tools in communication with ease.
For individual or one-on -one tutoring I would choose age appropriate text/play ,poem or short story geared to the individual's target interest and competency level to read and study together ; stopping the narrative at intervals to discuss grammar structure, usage ;reading comprehension and vocabulary plus challenging and encouraging the student to use new skills examples as we move along.
In both instances group or individual I would take time to get feedback as to how the students are feeling and if they have any concerns or suggestions as how we could proceed more effectively.

First lesson will be a competency evaluation and meet and greet of 20-30 min at no charge, lessons online will require advance payment, paypal or email and in person lessons payment will be taken at the end of each class or if purchased in block by personal credit card or cheque
