About David
I have been involved in Secondary and Higher education for most of my working life, starting out by conducting laboratory supervision sessions whilst completing my Ph.D. in Geology at the University of Bristol.
In addition to my Ph.D. I gained a PGCE (Secondary Geography) from the Institute of Education and an M.Sci. (4 year Hons.) from the University of Durham.
Within secondary education I taught in a number of challenging schools in East London, firstly as a Teacher of Geography then Head of Geography, Head of Humanities and finally Associate Assistant Principal. This has given me a huge amount of experience of reviewing teaching and learning across a range of subjects, as well as mentoring, coaching and assessing many other teachers.

I employ a range of teaching strategies centred around improving key skills and knowledge and then applying these to exam performance to improve attainment.
I have an extensive back catalogue of lessons and resources to adapt to the needs of individual students, having completely redesigned Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculums for Geography several times in my previous Head of Humanities and Geography roles, as well as overseeing this process in all other Humanities subjects.
