About Matthew

I bring 15 years of experience performing in orchestral, chamber, and solo settings. I also have over 4 years of teaching experience in subjects including flute performance, music theory, and musicianship. My diverse range of experiences — in the UCLA ensembles, community orchestras, gig work — has equipped me with the perspectives necessary to teach students with a comprehensive understanding of music across settings. My formal training in music theory and composition also enables me to provide thorough instruction in this domain, which complements performance work greatly.

About the lesson

I believe that music is for everyone whether it’s someone looking for a new weekly hobby or a student aspiring to conservatory. I tailor instruction to ensure that students are developing their skills, staying engaged, enjoying their repertoire, and having fun!
