About Debbie

I’m a committed, hardworking and fun individual who loves exercise, my cats and helping students!
There is no greater joy than being a part of a student’s academic journey. To witness the light bulb moments, to answer their questions, to help them believe that they are capable and then support them to make the progress that matches their potential.
My high standards and eye for detail, compassion and genuine interest in my students fosters a safe and secure environment where students can thrive, and this to me means everything!

About the lesson

Through weekly 1-1 one hour online lessons, students working with me will grow in confidence and learn to love (or at least enjoy!) Chemistry. Reviewing content to develop understanding, tackling exam questions to improve exam technique and working on specific problems brought by the student form the backbone of all my personalised lessons. Lessons are crafted to suit each individual’s needs yet all benefit from my passion for my subject and my role, my knowledge and expertise and a wider interest in each student beyond our sessions.
I have over 13 years of experience teaching / tutoring both GCSE and A level Chemistry, an enhanced DBS check and a first class degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University. After leaving teaching almost 4 years ago, I have successfully supported a wealth of students in achieving top results and securing places on extremely competitive Dentistry, Medicine and Veterinary science courses, to name but a few. I’ve also had students transition from GCSE to A level Chemistry as a result of our working together. But my students don’t solely remember me for how I support them academically, they remember how I support their well-being and how much I genuinely care. I literally have the best job in the world!
