About Alaina

I have been tutoring various grade levels of students and groups for over ten years. In college for my bachelor's degree, I was also employed as a tutor to my peers. My hope is I feel more like a study buddy to you than a teacher, so you feel comfortable asking as many questions as you like and getting creative with me on ways to practice or learn.

About the lesson

Booking time for tutoring with me is not booking more school work. We can spend our sessions on some homework or lessons you need more time on, but my goal is to make sure you understand the material, feel more confident in your knowledge, and have ability in each subject when solo too. If we are working on short or long term goals over multiple sessions, we will work out a plan to learn, practice, and explore examples so there's variety in how you learn and see the material. My longest- running client has regular sessions to practice reading then summarizing what they learned both orally and in an essay so that we can ensure any subject matter makes so much sense they can tell or write about it in any setting. We always make a little weekly time for homework too so they can ask questions and check their levels.
