About Michaela

I am a passionate and adaptable educator with experience teaching in diverse classrooms across Canada and internationally. Currently, I teach Grade 5/6 in Brandon, Manitoba, where I create inclusive, student-centered learning experiences tailored to the unique academic and social-emotional needs of my students. Throughout my career, I have taught Grades 1-6 in Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, and Canada, working with international curricula, implementing differentiated instruction, and supporting second-language learners. My expertise spans from Math, Science, Social Studies, Phonics, and Reading Recognition, as well as English language tutoring for adults (B1-C1 levels), focusing on fluency, grammar, and practical communication skills. With a background in IB/PYP and Cambridge curricula, as well as experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes, I am committed to fostering a love for learning in all my students. Whether in the classroom or through tutoring, my goal is to create engaging and meaningful educational experiences that empower learners to succeed.
