About Bilal

I’m Bilal, a distinction-level post-graduate writer and experienced tutor specialising in GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature. I work exclusively one-to-one, tailoring lessons to each student’s strengths, goals, and pace. My lessons focus on clarity, structure, and understanding, helping students build confidence and achieve tangible results in reading, writing, and exams. I bring a practical, supportive approach and a passion for the craft of language and literature, ensuring students feel motivated and empowered.

About the lesson

I offer one-to-one lessons in GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature at all levels, both online, and in-person in East Birmingham. Lessons are fully adaptable, whether you’re preparing for exams, improving essay-writing and analytical skills, or refining language proficiency. I primarily support AQA students but can work with other boards on request.

Sessions focus on textual understanding, literary analysis and context, exam technique, close reading, and comprehension. Each lesson is interactive, clear, and supportive — designed to make complex ideas accessible while pushing towards top grades. One-to-one attention ensures that lessons are personalised for each student’s level, pace, and goals.

Sauli was a diligent, well-mannered student with a passion and openness for learning as a native Finnish speaker seeking 1-1 English fluency coaching. He did well with learning English phrases and worked through pronunciation of difficult sounds unique to the English language. He was able to put these concepts together into more fluent delivery and situation management, improving everyday English clarity and communication.
