About Amr

I am an experienced English teacher and tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience in Canada and internationally. I currently teach Grade 8 English in Toronto and have previously spent several years teaching in South Korea, working with students from a wide range of ages, abilities, and language backgrounds.

My background has given me extensive experience in teaching reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, literature, essay writing, and academic English. I have also worked with ESL learners and students who need extra support building confidence in English.

As a teacher, I am patient, approachable, and flexible. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style based on the student’s personality, strengths, challenges, and goals. I try to make lessons comfortable and engaging while still keeping students challenged and progressing.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students reach the point where something that once felt difficult finally makes sense. My goal is to help students improve their academic performance while also developing the confidence and skills they can continue using independently.

About the lesson

My lessons are personalized, engaging, and designed around each student’s specific needs, goals, and learning style. I work with students on reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, writing, essay structure, literary analysis, speaking, and overall communication skills.

I also provide support with school assignments, test preparation, homework, presentations, and building stronger study habits. For students who struggle with writing, I focus on helping them organize their ideas, develop stronger paragraphs, use evidence effectively, and express themselves more clearly and confidently.

I believe students learn best when lessons are interactive and easy to connect to real life, so I adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s interests and level. I can make lessons more structured and academic for students who need school support, or more conversational and practical for students looking to improve their English fluency.

My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident, independent readers, writers, and speakers.
