About Jesse
Hi there! Thank you for visiting my page. I have always loved teaching and learning. One of my favorite things to do is try to find the best way to explain something to someone in a way that they can easily understand it.
Since I was in my early teen years I have served as a tutor and teaching assistant and I've tutored students in math, science geology, geography, and English, as well as writing and grad school navigation. I have also taken the TESL certification as well as teaching students whose first language is not English
Currently, I am also a Ph.D. candidate with extensive experience in writing and research and I have worked in the University system for almost a decade.

I've taught learners at the high school, undergraduate and graduate level, children, as well as adults learning English :)
I don't want to say that I have one single methodology that I adhere to when tutoring. Rather I believe in creating a methodology based on the student I am working with. Everyone learns in a different way and the best way to find out how they learn is to try different things, talk to them, get to know them, and find what works best.
While learning to be an animator and also learning music theory and guitar as a youth I discovered that this was also the case for me. I did not excel in either of these artistic disciplines until I found a method that works for me. As such I believe that this journey of learning will be crafted in equal parts by the teacher and the student, and even in roles where there's a clearly defined teacher and student both parties play a role in manufacturing knowledge.
