About Michele

ESA funds accepted (invoice provided for parent reimbursement).

I am a passionate English teacher with 28 years of classroom experience and over nine years tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups. I help students improve their reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking skills, as well as prepare for the SAT. I hold a Master’s in Education in Instructional Technology, which allows me to integrate modern strategies and resources into every lesson.

I love teaching and take pride in creating engaging, personalized lessons that meet each student where they are. My sessions include guided examples, step-by-step explanations, and notes that I provide to every student, ensuring they leave with clear understanding and tools to succeed. I also offer access to a wide range of resources and materials, helping students practice skills independently and gain confidence in their abilities.

Whether we focus on essay organization, breaking down prompts, MLA formatting, or advanced grammar and syntax, my goal is to make English skills accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable. Students leave my lessons not only more skilled but more confident and prepared for school and future success.

How My Lessons Work

I provide student-centered English support designed to meet each student’s unique needs. I offer both individual lessons to focus on a specific skill, and ongoing tutoring sessions for consistent progress and long-term confidence in reading, writing, and English overall.

Each lesson is structured, engaging, and personalized, combining clear instruction with active practice and immediate feedback. Students work through examples with my guidance, participate in discussions, and apply strategies independently, all while building skills at their own pace.

By the end of each session, students gain improved academic skills, increased confidence, and a deeper understanding of English that will support them in school and beyond.

In addition to tutoring, I offer professional proofreading and detailed essay feedback. I review papers for clarity, organization, grammar, syntax, MLA formatting, and overall effectiveness. Rather than simply correcting errors, I provide clear explanations and written comments so students understand how to strengthen their writing independently. This service is ideal for high school and college students who want to refine essays, research papers, or application writing before submission.

I also offer small group lessons capped at six students to ensure each participant receives meaningful attention and feedback. Group sessions provide the added benefit of collaborative discussion, shared ideas, and peer learning while still maintaining a focused and supportive environment. Students often gain confidence by hearing different perspectives and practicing skills together. These sessions are ideal for SAT prep, grammar workshops, writing intensives, or targeted skill development.
