About Denis

I am a qualified and experienced ESL teacher with at least 19 years of experience teaching students of all skill levels. My qualifications include:

1. TESOL Certification in International English from TESOL Canada
2. TESOL Certification in Computer English from TESOL Canada
3. Teachers of English as a Foreign Language
4. Teachers of English for Specific Purposes and Levels
5. College degree in Criminal Law D.E.C.
6. College degree in Computer IT Technology A.E.C.

My first overseas school was for Kid’s College in Ilsan, North of Seoul, where I taught kindergarten to grade six students. Before going to Taiwan to teach grades 1 to 12, I went to Germany to teach beginner to advanced level students in:

• Basic English
• Business English
• Professional Presentations and Business Correspondence
• Executive Courses
• Crash Courses
• TOEFL Test Preparation
• LCCIEB Oral Examination Courses Levels II and III.
• University of Cambridge ESOL (English for Business and English for Commerce)
• Course participants included managers from important companies like RWE, Siemens and Steag – among others.

I have been teaching online since 2010 now. Working from British Columbia proves to be a big advantage since it enables me to care for European and Asian students early in their evening period.

About the lesson

My lessons are simple and always full of fun. Prepare to laugh and to learn in a fun and relaxing way. Students are often afraid to talk and make mistakes when they speak in English. For that reason, they don't talk much. What people don't realize is that, when you decide to learn English, it's because you want to speak with people in English. You either learn because of your new job or to keep the job you already have. You might also want to travel and see the world. You will need English to meet people and to ask people for help. Therefore, you must learn English.

I always tell my students that there is not reason to be afraid to talk in English. I have practiced my French, Spanish and German for many years and nobody has ever laughed at me! In reality, people have always given me compliments. You must realize that you are the person helping actually helping the other person because they cannot speak your language. For that reason, they will never laugh at you!

This is why I remove all the fear you might have of speaking English when you are in class. We talk! We have fun! We laugh! We learn slowly and gradually so that everything is easy to understand. We study the grammar, practice situations and solve various problems you might have including pronunciation.
