About Amber

If you need help with IELTS preparation, academic English, business English, conversation, vocabulary, idioms, accent reduction, writing, and comprehension; I can help you individually or in small groups. I am a native English speaker with a degree in Education, I am a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, and a Cambridge University ESL program (CELTA) grad. I have been in the education field since 2009 and I love to help all levels of ESL students reach their goals.

About the lesson

Greetings! I am a lifelong learner and I know that learning will last when it's fun and engaging. Communication is a huge part of life, right? We are all different, we all have different strengths and weaknesses. My students enjoy my ability to pick up on their individual communication styles and find the best resources to fit their needs. I will (gently) push you to be the best communicator you can be in whatever area you need help with. Oh! And we'll have some laughs along the way.

Brent wants to "neutralize" his accent as much as possible. We will practice spontaneous speaking and integration of more expressions in daily language with a long-term goal for him to be comfortable speaking in front of groups.
The methodology I propose is to practice expressions (3-5 per week), isolate and practice pronunciation of unclear sounds (minimal pairs, etc), and create samples using new vocab and challenging words.
