About Alissa
I have a master's degree in Education and in Library Media. Both of my graduate thesis papers have received top honors in my programs. I studied English as an undergraduate and my master's in library media was dedicated to children and teens. I have worked in classrooms and online.

I work with what the student is struggling with first. But, all language is connected. Vocabulary, comprehension skills, and grammar are all part of improving language skills. I never stress my students and let them work at their own pace. Frustration will not help them improve! Depending on the grade and needs of the student, I will design a specific curriculum that will cater to their needs. I have taught/tutored preschoolers and high schoolers of all abilities. I have even worked with autistic students, which requires great patience. But all students can benefit from a better understanding of language. Whatever your student needs to learn or just brush up on, I am here to help!
