About Adam

I am an educator from the great state of Colorado, USA. Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of elementary learners and earned more than 300 stellar reviews from families who have trusted me to support their children's education.

Teaching is one of my favorite things to do, but outside of the classroom I am also an avid reader, writer, and lifelong learner. I have a particular passion for dinosaurs, wildlife, and nature, and I enjoy bringing that sense of curiosity into my lessons. I believe that enthusiasm is contagious, and students are more likely to engage when they can see that their teacher genuinely loves learning.

One of the things that makes my classes unique is that I enjoy incorporating student interests whenever possible. If a learner is excited about Pokémon, animals, dinosaurs, or another favorite topic, I can often use those interests to make lessons more engaging and memorable.

I am known for being patient, encouraging, and approachable. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. Few things are more rewarding than watching a child realize they are capable of something they once thought was impossible.

Whether I am teaching, reading a great book, exploring a new interest, or creating educational materials, I am always looking for ways to inspire curiosity and help others grow.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Adam, and I specialize in helping elementary students build confidence and success in math.

My teaching philosophy is simple: students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating progress. I create a positive, supportive environment where children can develop both their math skills and their confidence as learners.

My lessons are highly interactive and adapted to each student's needs. Rather than relying solely on worksheets, I use visual models, games, real-world examples, and engaging activities to make learning meaningful and fun. I regularly incorporate educational tools such as Kahoot, Blooket, and digital manipulatives to keep students actively involved.

A typical lesson includes:

Guided practice with support and feedback
Independent problem-solving opportunities
A summary of successes and next steps

I work with students who need extra support, those looking to strengthen foundational skills, and learners who want additional challenges beyond the classroom. My focus is typically on grades 2-5, including topics such as multiplication, division, fractions, place value, problem-solving, and math fluency.

My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills but also to help them develop a growth mindset and the confidence to tackle challenging problems independently.
