About Helen

I have been CELTA-qualified and teaching English since 2013. I have taught students aged 7-70 of all proficiency levels (A1-C2). I can offer help with exam preparations (Cambridge exams, IELTS), Academic English (writing essays for university in an academic style using referencing, paraphrasing, and appropriate language), General English (listening, reading, writing, speaking, grammar), or conversational English skills. I can also offer language support for EAL students in mainstream schools, with a focus on integrating curriculum content with language learning.

About the lesson

I believe in getting to know my students' interests and passions, as well as strengths and weaknesses, in order to personalise lessons to their individual needs and ensure progress and a sense of success. I am creative in lesson preparation and use a range of activities and sources to provide variety and keep lessons engaging, as well as useful.
