About Krissy
I hold an MPhil in Molecular Biology and Microbiology, and have a strong academic background in science, including A-level Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I offer tutoring in Science subjects and Maths.
I have always enjoyed understanding how and why things work, but I also know that Maths and Science can feel overwhelming when concepts are introduced too quickly or when gaps in understanding begin to build up.
I want to teach because I enjoy helping students turn that feeling of “I can’t do this” into “I understand it now.” I am patient and encouraging, and I am happy to explain the same concept in different ways until we find the approach that makes sense to you.
My aim is not simply to help students memorise enough information to pass an exam. I want them to understand the subject, become more confident in tackling unfamiliar questions, and develop problem-solving skills that they can use independently.
Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, want to improve your grades, or simply need someone to make Maths and Science feel a little less intimidating, I would be very happy to help.

My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe students learn best when they understand why something works, rather than simply memorising formulae, facts or model answers.
For Maths and Science, I break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and use examples, questions and problem-solving exercises to help students build genuine understanding. I pay particular attention to identifying gaps in knowledge that may be holding a student back, while helping them develop effective approaches to exam questions.
