About ML
I first began tutoring during my undergraduate studies, aiding fellow students in our college's Writing Center with projects such as creative writing, undergraduate theses, academic papers, resumes and cover letters, etc. I have tutored in one-time sessions, scheduled weekly meetings, and group writing workshops. I also have experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high school level kids in their writing endeavors. I love to share my passion and to help individuals express themselves through the written word.

I give lessons to students from elementary school to the undergraduate level, and I tailor my approach to the individual student's needs. My lessons generally begin with going over what the student would like to accomplish during our time; do they want to work on a writing project? Do they want to practice a writing technique? Do they want to review and practice using specific grammar rules? I then propose what I think would be best for our session; for instance, if they want to begin writing a paper, I would suggest using our time to work on an outline and practice different outlining techniques to see what works best for their individual learning style. I then end my lessons with having the student recap what they've learned and put together some "next steps."
