About Nancy
I love teaching! I make my lessons engaging and fun. My tutoring sessions are not "busy work". As a tutor, I use only the latest common core language arts, reading, and math requirements. I provide materials for learning that address the students' needs. Years ago, I started my teaching career as a classroom teacher. I am certified by the state of Connecticut to teach all subjects in grades K-8. I transitioned into tutoring online about 10 years ago. It is more rewarding because I work one-to-one with my students, and I can immediately see what they don't understand and address their needs on the spot. Besides having a BS degree in education, I have two Master's Degrees in Elementary Education. I was fortunate to spend several years teaching English to Chinese children and currently teach English to Spanish-speaking students. I have years of online K-8 teaching experience. I currently have many students who have been with me for years. My goal is to always meet the student at his/her level. The lessons are tailor-made to meet the needs of the children. Each session is fun and interactive with assessments to gauge progress. I have two Master's Degrees in elementary education and I am state certified to teach K-8. I have also taught students in China to speak English and currently have Spanish-speaking students who I am tutoring in English. Your child would benefit from my years of experience and my ability to recognize the needs of the student.
