About Melyssa
I am a certified teacher with over 5 years of experience teaching students in both in-person and virtual classroom settings. I specialize in working with students in grades 3–8 and have a strong understanding of how to support different learning styles through differentiated instruction.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and improve their academic performance, particularly in science. I have experience supporting students with a variety of needs, including those who benefit from additional structure, guidance, and encouragement.
My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

As a certified teacher with over 5 years of experience teaching both in-person and virtually, my tutoring approach is student-centered and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I use differentiated instruction to meet each student where they are and break down complex science concepts into clear, manageable steps using visuals, guided practice, and real-world examples.
A typical session includes reviewing prior knowledge, teaching or reinforcing key concepts, guided practice, and independent application with feedback. I create a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My tutoring is best suited for students in grades 3–8 who need help in science, including STAAR preparation, homework support, and strengthening foundational skills.
